Description

Visiting scientist are invited to use the MEGAMER facility apartment conveniently located directly across from the mainentrance of the UCSC campus. This two bedroom apartment comes fully furnished with an equipped kitchen, wireless internet access, and a washer/drier unit. Linens and such are also provided. Visiting scientist (with proper licensing) are also offered use of an extended cab, Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck in order to conduct field work and for convenient transportation around the Santa Cruz area. Priority use of the apartment follows the same guidelines that dictate general facility use.

Directions

From San Jose International Airport

Follow CA-17 South to CA-1 North- Half Moon Bay
Follow CA-1 North for approximately 3/4 miles. CA-1 will veer right
on to Mission St. Please stay in the extreme right lane as you drive on to Mission Street and take an immediate right turn on to Highland Ave. Highland Ave will dead end after two blocks. At the dead end turn left onto High Street. Proceed on High Street for 1.2 miles to Bay Street. Turn left on Bay Street into the right hand lane. Take your first right on Meder St and a second immediate right onto Nobel Drive. Immediately on your right will be the entrance to Laureate Court Apartments. There are gates (often closed) restricting access. Enter the gate code #0700 should these gates be closed. Once passed the gate proceed left along the left side of the complex. The unit 744D is located near back of the complex labeled 744. Unit D is at the bottom of the two story building.

An extra vehicle may be parked in the parking spot #49.

The apartment key allows access in and out of the gates around the complex. A bus stop up to campus is located kitty corner from the complex at the base of campus and can be accessed most conviently across the parking lot through the gate located outside the front door of the complex.
